SEO and SMO for Beginners: Let’s do it in a Google way

I published a damn good post, got no page views. I shared my posts to Facebook, Google Plus and Twitter, but no one clicked them. I have great content, but no great visitors.
You worry about page views and traffic before hitting that publish button for your next post. You feel that you couldn't win.
You can win. You can do, it’s not a rocket science to learn how to drive traffic to your blog. Just go in a ‘Google way’ to rank your blog, gain authorship, earn better or whatever you want (online).
What all we need is visitor’s attention and trust. Are you ready to spare a few minutes? Okay, let’s start.

SEO: Focus on creating content, promote next.

Blogging isn't a race so carefully watch and find every successful step.

Blogging is like a marathon, you may not win in the very first year. Sometimes it takes 2 to 3 years to gain authority in your niche. Even the bloggers who inspired you like Darren Rowse, Derek Halpern, Brian Clark or blogs like Mashable, Venture Beat and whatever that might be, haven’t jumped into success over night. Success stories inspire us a lot and that’s the reason why most of you are bloggers today.

Some bloggers share earnings and display reports every month. Those reports throw us into delusion and make us daydreamers. Here are some goals of such guys;

  •        I’ve started a blog and my goal is to make a five figure income every month.
  •        I want to see my blog ranked below 10K in a month.
  •        How to find best keywords that rank my blog posts first in SERP.
  •        How to flood my blog with visitors fast.
Oh! It's really hard to raise it.

Business quotes that boost up and help you succeed in Blogging.

Winning is what every blogger needs today. Some may win, some may lose at the end of the day. But that’s not the end, fight continues tomorrow. Competitors change from time to time, but not the competition. It is not the competition that kills your blogging career, it's you. No matter who you are, an amateur blogger or an experienced blogger, these business quotes help you. By avoiding some basic blogging mistakes in early days, you'll never look back. To help you succeed, I've collected some best quotes (I feel) and explained them in a blogging perspective to help you succeed.

If blogging is a BIG confusion,

" If one doesn't know to which port he is sailing, no wind is favorable                                                                                          -    Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Blogging mistakes a beginner should avoid to rank better on search engines.

blogging mistakesSome Blog for passion, some blog to make a living, even companies or brands maintain a blog. Okay, leave it, let’s talk about the second kind i.e. personal bloggers who want to make a living from blogging.

There are thousands of posts that educate you how to blog, how to make some six figure income like them, How I made that and how I made $10,000 in a month etc. Are they really useful? Not always. Most of them just brag to attract you and benefit from your weakness to earn. They may attract and inspire you, but they can never help you 100 per cent. I can prove it. Read autobiography of Abraham Lincoln and come to me as president of US, I'll cut my throat.

They are the just the people (winners sometimes) who made a difference and they advise you to do the same. Come on, when will you make a difference if you follow someone all the year long. I don’t mean that you shouldn't learn from someone. Improve your cognizance learn from past successes, re-think and re-invent your own way that leads to your goals. Okay, prior to that let’s see how not to blog (which is more important).

How to make your visitors stay longer on your blog?

Visitors spend more time on your blog when they feel your content is worth reading and it can boost their cognizance. This is what you know and you feel before writing a blog post. Am I right? Of course, I am. Now let us know how to make your visitors stay for minutes on your blog pages (only when it is a branded topic).

People like you and me write better articles everyday and try to make them reach the target visitors. But only a few of us succeed to see a spike in the visitor graph in our analytics. Why? Are you unable to write what they need? Or Are you unable to knock the right door? (Of course the right door sometimes may be locked) or Are you unable to make them realise that your post is what they are looking for?

If you're sure about your target audience, the third question might be correct. So, you are a better writer who is unable to make your visitors read your content? Right, prior to jumping into the topic, let's see how visitors behave;

What do you think is the biggest mistake in blogging you need to avoid?

'To err is human to correct is divine.' Good, but who has the time to notice your mistakes and correct them? None, it is you who should dispose them.

It's human psychology to overestimate their intelligence. When analyzed our performance, we surely get an unsatisfactory output but find no mistake from our part. Why?

Will you accept if I say you and your strategies are completely wrong? You definitely won't, I know its a kind of nature that develops as we grow.  And the biggest mistake you do  is comparing your performance (blog’s) with competitor's or other high performing blog. Try to compare your performance with your own objectives and goals those you fixed before starting a blog or publishing a blog post.

Content > Conversations > Conversions (Sales). Seems to be a good idea that works with Google's +Post ads.

Display Ads are becoming more creative and attracting more audience everyday. That's a good sign for advertisers or brands. But how far they are able to make conversions (sales) out of their campaigns? Display Ads are limited to spreading or educating audience about a brand or a company. How about an ad that provides a great opportunity for advertisers to communicate directly with their target customers?

Everyday is becoming more social and Google is going to bring a new feature for brands which lets them convert their plus posts into Ads. These posts (sorry Ads) are not meant for advertising within the Google plus, instead they will be transferred and displayed on Google Display Network. Unlike Facebook Ads, this new feature +Post ads lets brands reuse their pictures, videos or even hangouts and turn them into ads with
the same interface.
